Jensen Reed releases album

The North Carolina-born, Los Angeles-based artist Jensen Reed has announced the release of his long-awaited debut album Forget About The Cameras today. The 12-track album features single “After The War (featuring superbeautiful),” and is now available on iTunes. Stand out tracks “Going Under” and “That Something” have recently been featured on MTV’s smash hit TV shows The City and World of Jenks.

“On his new album, Forget About the Cameras, Jensen Reed slides through hip hop with an unshakable rock ‘n’ roll swagger,” according to Rick Florino of Artist Direct. “[Jensen] is about to flip the script on the game forgetting about the glitz, glamour and the cameras and hitting the mic harder than anyone.”

Highly praised music video director Mark Pellington (who has shot iconic music videos for artists such as: Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Silverchair, Public Enemy, Nine Inch Nails, U2, Moby and Bruce Springsteen, to name a few) jumped at the chance to direct Reed’s video for smash single “After The War (feat. superbeautiful).” “Mark only works with music he really believes in,” said Reed. “I am honored that he believes in my music, and that my music has inspired him to want to work with me.”

About Jensen Reed
Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, Jensen Reed forges a new artery through the vapid musical landscape with the fusion of eclectic instrumentation, heavy-hitting drums, swift vocals and big choruses. A small-town boy at heart, Reed grew up in North Carolina and brings the power pop musical quality (Ben Folds, Merge Records, etc.) that the Chapel Hill community is well-known for.

Reed’s talent as a live performer, combined with his unparalleled work ethic, has led to an impressive resume of shows. Throughout, he has gained elevated levels of respect amongst patrons and fellow artists and shared the stage with acts including Little Brother and Dilated Peoples at such venues as The Roxy and Key Club. Reed has also obtained cinematic and television acclaim, having two of his songs featured in the Academy Award-nominated film The Messenger (2010), starring Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster, as well as a song placed in the Emmy-nominated show Friday Night Lights (2010).
