The Material to release album

The Material will release the band’s debut album independently on January 11, 2011. Soon thereafter, the group who are no strangers to the road will begin a national tour with the intent of staying out there for the entire calendar year. This follows multiple self-booked national coast-to-coast tours, which have been a catalyst in delivering the significant groundswell the band now enjoys. Alongside these excursions, they appeared at the 2010 Warped Tour on the Ernie Ball stage in San Diego, and on the Motel 6 Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour Sponsored By 1800mattress.com with Every Avenue, There For Tomorrow, Sing It Loud and The Secret Handshake this past summer.

Hailing from San Diego, CA, The Material has been supported by media outlets in the realms of television, Internet, radio, and even video games. The band was selected out of 4,000 bands to perform live on MTV's Dew Circuit Breakout and selections from the band’s repertoire have been featured on MTV's "The Hills", the WB's "Sorority Forever", and multiple other placements.

This weekend, the music video for “Before This Ship Goes Down,” was filmed with Matt Silver of The Silver Dynamic. On October 27, the band will appear at the Hope Culture Benefit with I Am Empire in Santa Cruz, CA to raise funds for the fight against cancer. The Material has joined forces with the Rock Band Network, initiating a plan for “Stay Here Forever” from the debut to be released the week prior to the album street date. This follows an earlier alliance, in which the track “Moving to Seattle” made its debut on Rock Band in June, 2008, going on to sell over 250,000 downloads.

On November 1, the series Freshwater Blue will premiere on MTV Australia and in other territories across the globe. The band wrote and recorded the title theme for the program, and a number of their other songs are featured in episodes across season one. The track “What Happens Next” is currently available on iTunes and other digital retailers across the globe.

The Material is:
Colleen D'Agostino - Lead Vocals
Jon Moreaux – Guitar
Roi Elam – Guitar
Kevin Pintado - Drums
