Velvet Code releases single on iTunes

Now acclimating to the United Kingdom after relocating earlier this Summer from New York City, electronic-synth pop artist VELVET CODE has released his debut UK single, "FOLLOW YOU FOLLOW ME" which is available on iTunes internationally starting today at tinyurl.com/velvetcode.

Produced by Swedish hit maker Peter Bostrom (A-teens, DaBuzz, Alcazar) and mastered by Geoff Pesche (Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite) at Abbey Road, the truly infectious song boasts sparkling production that matches its epically soaring melody. "'Follow You Follow Me' is about togetherness," says Velvet from London. "When we come together, we have an opportunity to make the world a better place. All with love."

In following with the song's message, Velvet Code has donated the song to "Supporting Life's Journeys" (www.supportinglifesjourneys.org.uk), a UK-based collective under The Mentoring and Befriending Foundation which brings many organisations together in the spirit of influencing the future. In light of the nationwide tragedies that have happened in the US involving bullying and teen suicides, Velvet felt a moral obligation to contribute the track to the organization.

"When we get involved in mentoring and befriending those who are in need of assistance or guidance, we have an opportunity to influence the future in a positive way," he explains. "Given the tragic teen suicides in the past month, I feel there is no better time than now to get involved in raising awareness of the importance of mentoring and befriending in today's society. This foundation is in place to connect people when they are in desperate need of help."

Velvet Code started out in NYC in 2005 when he moved out of his native Toronto and decided to start a band. Getting the attention of numerous bands including Mindless Self Indulgence who took him on tour and producers including the legendary Mark Saunders (Shiny Toy Guns, Erasure, The Cure) who produced his the synth-infused pop debut Black.Blue.Blind., Velvet Code started garnering accolades including received the plaudit of "Dance/Electronica - Song" at The 8th Annual Independent Music Awards for the song "Say You Love Me." Velvet relocated to London two months ago to explore that country's music scene and, if "Follow You Follow Me" is any indication, England has been spurring a whole new creative outlook on his own music. As he explains of the new direction of his music, "Think Pink who wants to look like Lady GaGa but wants to dance with Freddie Mercury and run with The Killers."

Velvet Code is currently working on new music with Swedish hitmaker Peter Boström (A-teens, DaBuzz, Alcazar).
